Why we draw before we source
Most engagement rings start with the diamond. We start with the design — and source the stone to fit. A short note on why the order of operations matters.
A ring designed around a stone is a compromise; a stone chosen for a design is a decision. When the drawing comes first, every proportion is chosen on purpose: the width of the band against the hand, the height of the setting, the way light is meant to enter the stone. Only then do we go looking for the diamond that belongs in it.
A wearer who watches the drawing take shape first understands why every proportion was chosen. That understanding is what turns a purchase into a commission.
